Where and what in Granada

Granada is a city for all travelers: from backpackers to spa-goers.

Where we stayed:

Hotel El Almirante

Also recommended:

Hotel con Corazon

Hotel Spa Granada

Hotel Colonial

Hotel Patio del Malinche

NOTE: When making reservations from the US, dial 011-505.

Places to eat:

Get a snack while walking through Parque Colon. There is no shortage of vendors to choose from.  Be sure to get the famous plate made of yucca, pork rind, salad and chicha (a fermented corn drink).

Our best meal of the trip was at Encuentros. Owned by a European family who loves to travel, the restaurant serves what they call “International and Mediterranean cuisine”. We just call it delicious.

Places to visit:

Choco Museo

Granada Cathedral

Lake Nicaragua
